Three New SUVs to Accompany Alen Simonyan's 90 Million Dram BMW
The government will allocate 54 million dram for the purchase of three Toyota RAV 4 passenger SUVs to accompany the President of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan. During the government meeting on April 7, a reallocation will be made in the 2022 budget, and funds will be granted to the National Assembly for this procurement.
The SUVs will be purchased through a single-source procurement process. The current accompanying vehicles (TOYOTA LC PRADO 2.71 from 2003 with a mileage of 235,334 km, TOYOTA LC PRADO 4.0GA from 2007 with a mileage of 252,884 km, and NISSAN X-TRAIL 2.01 from 2008 with a mileage of 271,613 km) do not provide adequate safety and secure transportation for the National Assembly President’s service vehicle, a BMW 750Li.
The justification states that the vehicles available in the National Assembly's automotive fleet cannot be used for accompanying the President of the National Assembly.
The project notes that the National Assembly staff conducted a market study focusing on the Armenian automotive market. Inquiries were made to “Muran,” “Grand Motors,” “Sky Motors,” and “Toyota Yerevan.” As a result, it was deemed appropriate to acquire three Toyota RAV 4 SUVs since “Toyota Yerevan” also applied additional discounts for this model.
It is recalled that recently, Alen Simonyan changed his previous service vehicle, claiming it was malfunctioning. That car has now been put up for sale, and it is noted that the vehicle has no issues. He is currently served by the newly acquired vehicle from the budget worth 90 million dram.
