Vote Buying: He Spends Millions, Just Like Kocharyan

The National Security Service of Armenia has conducted activities that have led to the Anti-Corruption Committee initiating proceedings based on factual evidence.

It has been revealed that the faction of the "Strong Armenia" party, in collaboration with the party's representative for the Ani community in the Shirak region and others, has provided several voters with bribes of between 70,000 to 200,000 AMD in exchange for voting for their party in the parliamentary elections.

To lend a legal appearance to their criminal activities, the members of the group documented the bribe recipients as pre-election activists, volunteers, and regional representatives, compensating them not for actual work done but for promises to vote as previously agreed during the elections.

In connection with this incident, the Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia has initiated a criminal case, and several individuals have been detained. Searches and other procedural actions have taken place.

The Committee urges the public to refrain from offering electoral bribes and disguising such criminal activities with various formal mechanisms, warning that every occurrence of this nature will face severe legal repercussions.
