Scandalous New Revelations About Lavrov and Hungary's Foreign Minister's Agent Connections
The Hungarian Foreign Ministry coordinated anti-Ukrainian activities with Lavrov in the EU. This is reported by the Hungarian Vsquare publication, noting that in new materials from the investigative project, between 2023 and 2025, Peter Szijjarto repeatedly provided Sergei Lavrov with information regarding steps being prepared by the EU against Russia and consulted with him about actions aimed at Ukraine.
Specific episodes include an instance where Lavrov requested to be handed an EU document regarding the language requirements for national minorities presented to Ukraine, to which Szijjarto agreed.
Lavrov suggested using the topic of “protecting the rights of Russian speakers” to hinder Ukraine’s European integration. According to the investigation's authors, the tone and content of their conversations resemble more of agency work than mere political alignment with Moscow.
Previous revelations: In the earlier part of the investigation, journalists reported how Szijjarto, at Lavrov's request, managed to get a relative of Alisher Usmanov removed from the EU sanctions list.
