Blizzard, Black Ice: Situation on Armenia's Roads

The Rescue Service reports that there are closed roads within the territory of Armenia.

Roads leading from the "Amberd" high-altitude meteorological station in the Aragatsotn region to the Amberd fortress and Kari Lake are closed. The Vardenyats mountain pass (snowstorm) is closed to trailer trucks. The Ttujur-Navur road (snowstorm) is impassable for all types of vehicles.

Black ice is present in several areas of the highways in the regions of Aparan, Aragats, Sevan, Jambarak, Martuni, Gavar, Hrazdan, Sisian, Ashotik, and Amasia.

Drivers are urged to travel exclusively on winter tires.

Regarding Lars: According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia's Emergency Management Agency and the crisis management center of Russia's Emergency Situations Ministry in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed to all types of vehicles.
