Anahit Avanesyan on Vagif Khachatryan's Health Condition
Vagif Khachatryan is stable and in good spirits because he is back home, in Armenia, and looking forward to reuniting with his family. This was stated by Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan during a conversation with journalists after visiting Khachatryan, who was recently repatriated from captivity in Baku and taken to the hospital.
“He is currently undergoing examinations. We know that he had a chronic heart condition, so we will also need to conduct additional tests. Our professional team will make decisions regarding further treatment,” the minister said.
She noted that there is no threat to Khachatryan's life: “Additional examinations are necessary. Everything is fine at this moment. He is in a normal condition. He said, ‘Now that I am in Armenia, I feel good.’ Everyone will receive the necessary examinations and professional consultations, and if there is a need for further treatment, we will organize that accordingly. Their condition is satisfactory; they do not have any serious issues.”
It is noted that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has reported that four Armenians held in Azerbaijan—Georg Sukyan, Davit Davtyan, Vigen Euljakyants, and Vagif Khachatryan—were handed over to the representatives of the relevant bodies of the Republic of Armenia by representatives of the appropriate authorities of the Republic of Azerbaijan through the Hakari bridge.
