Teachers and Students in Regions to Receive Transportation Expense Compensation
The beneficiaries of the transportation expense compensation program for teachers and students in public schools will receive the funding stipulated by the regulations. This has been reported by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (MoESCS).
For this purpose, a total of 311 million 348 thousand drams has been allocated by the government, reallocating from the MoESCS budget for the year 2025.
The transportation expense compensation is provided for pedagogical staff (including military instructors, teacher assistants, special educators, and psychologists) working in institutions located in rural areas, who are stationed at schools more than 5 km away from their actual place of residence, with a minimum workload of 0.5 staffing rate. The requirement for teachers to have a workload of 0.5 or more does not apply to educators working in institutions located in border communities that are included in the list approved by the government for receiving social support.
Transportation expense compensation is also provided to students in regions who are studying in institutions in another locality due to the absence of the relevant level educational program (existence of flowing and sub-flowing education in high schools) at their actual place of residence.
Reimbursement for transportation service expenses will be made based on actual attendance, in accordance with the provisions set forth by the RA government decision No. 1242-N, dated August 28, 2025.
The accepted decision also adjusted the non-financial indicators of the program, taking into account the changes in the beneficiaries from September of this year.
