No Basis for Limiting the Freedom of Vazgen Sahakyan and Narek Samsonyan, Says Ruben Melikyan
‘Imnemnimi’s first case, as well as this case, is among the few that, unfortunately, received international response. This was stated by Narek Samsonyan's lawyer Ruben Melikyan during a press conference. Melikyan noted that there are violations of more than half of the points of the European Convention in this case. ‘It was evident that there was no basis for limiting the freedom of individuals. We already had a criminal procedure, where after two months of detention, an alternative measure was applied for the boys, specifically, administrative supervision. The boys have fully complied with the conditions. Therefore, if we have had experience that this measure is effective, why should the most extreme measure be applied?’
