Narek Who Killed Parents in Gyumri Had Previously Attempted to Set Them on Fire

According to NEWS.am, the 37-year-old man who murdered his father and mother in Gyumri today had previously attempted to kill them in 2017 by pouring flammable liquid on them and stabbing them. However, he was unable to complete the crime because family members intervened. A criminal case was initiated regarding the incident, and Narek Adamyan was arrested but was declared insane and transferred to the ‘Nubarashen Mental Health Clinic’ for compulsory treatment. According to forensic examination, he suffers from ‘Paranoid Schizophrenia’. It has been reported that he was discharged from the psychiatric hospital three months ago.

Additionally, Narek Adamyan has been registered at the ‘Gyumri Mental Health Center’ since 2009 and has exhibited aggressive behavior intermittently. Years ago, he had also attempted to kill his sister by strangulation and had set fire to the roof of their house.

It is noteworthy that today, December 16, the 37-year-old man inflicted fatal knife wounds on both his father and mother.
