Snowfall in Certain Regions of Armenia

The Emergency Service reports that the roadways in the Republic of Armenia are mostly passable. Due to road reconstruction work on the Koryak Dzor road and the threat of rockfalls, the road has been temporarily closed to traffic since August 19.

The Vardenyats Pass is difficult to navigate for trucks with trailers. Snow has been recorded in the cities of Jermuk, at the Vardenyats Pass, and on the Saravan-Zanger highway. Fog is present in Hrazdan, Charentsavan, Abovyan, Masis, Artashat, the Jermuk area, the Ararat-Eraskh highway, the Vardenyats Pass, and the Saravan-Zanger section.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires. According to information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation’s North Ossetian crisis management center, the Stepantsminda-Lars highway is open to all types of vehicles.
