Let Them Be Prime Minister, I Would Present It to Them: Nazik Avdalyan

On December 8, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan hosted double world and European weightlifting champion Nazik Avdalyan at the government office. Following the meeting, reports circulated in the media suggesting that Pashinyan offered her a candidacy to become a member of parliament, placing her on the Civil Contract party's list for the 2026 parliamentary elections.

In an interview with 24News, Nazik Avdalyan denied receiving such an offer from the Prime Minister and stated that she does not intend to engage in politics. “There is no business component at all. Instead of doing business, I will devote my entire life and energy to the development of sports in Armenia. This is also part of the national strategy. Those who feel offended that I presented the program to Nikol Pashinyan, let them be the Prime Minister, and I would present it to them,” she said.
