Sachs Writes Angry Letter to Merz About Russia
Following German Chancellor Friedrich Merz's anti-Russian statements, American economist and Columbia University professor Jeffrey Sachs has penned an open letter to him, urging him to study his history. The letter was published in the Berliner Zeitung.
"Enough with the propaganda. Enough with moral infantilism of the public. Europeans are fully capable of understanding that security dilemmas are real, that NATO actions have consequences, and that peace cannot be achieved by ignoring Russia's security concerns. Learn your history, Mr. Chancellor. And be honest. Without honesty, trust is impossible. Without trust, there can be no security," he wrote in the letter addressed to the German Chancellor.
