There are no enemies and friends, there are just international relations - Pashinyan

The diplomatic textbook truth says there are no permanent friends or enemies, only permanent interests, stated Nikol Pashinyan during today's government meeting.

“My conviction is that this is actually an expression aimed at hiding the truth, because, in my understanding, there are no enemies and friends, there are just international relations,” he noted.

According to Pashinyan, a state matures at the moment it realizes that there are no friends or enemies.

“When you say that there are no friends and enemies, you focus on yourself and your actions and your decisions, whereas when you think in a different logic, you constantly think about how to make this one make that decision, that other one make the other decision, and you fall into a trap where you are used as a playing card—someone for themselves, another one for themselves, with everyone looking out for themselves, and the only one you don't use is yourself,” he explained.

“We are now in the logic of the state,” Pashinyan said.
