Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin Calls for Vigilance to Organizers and the Public

The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin has expressed deep concern over the recent statements made by ten bishops, which have led to public unrest. This was stated in a declaration issued by the Mother See.

“The Mother See calls for vigilance to the Holy Fathers who have undertaken the initiative of a potentially dangerous gathering. Responsibility must be demonstrated in order to keep the people away from disastrous unrest and to act exclusively within the canonical procedures of the Church. There is no need to exploit the sacred feelings of the people and to sow discord among the devout children of the Church with a known false agenda, disturbing the peace and prayerful environment of the spiritual center of the Armenians,” the statement continues.

The Mother See urges the faithful to maintain calm and not to succumb to the influence of such provocative statements. “May your actions, dear people, be nothing but a manifestation of prayer, solidarity, and unity. The steadfastness of Holy Etchmiadzin is your loyalty to the homeland and to our Holy Church. May the Lord be a help to the Armenian nation,” the statement concludes.
