Ruten Threatens Russia with Devastating Response: NATO Secretary General
NATO Secretary General Mark Ruten has stated that after the Ukraine conflict, security guarantees must ensure that Russia "never again" attempts to "attack" the republic. His words were quoted by the BBC.
“Russia will understand that with security guarantees, it should never attempt to attack Ukraine again, as our response will be devastating, and that is what we are discussing now,” said Ruten.
Previously, The Telegraph reported that the US and Europe have developed security guarantees for Ukraine, under which American troops will not be deployed in the republic, but Washington will be able to use F-16 fighter jets and Tomahawk missiles to deliver "retaliatory strikes" in the event of Moscow violating peace. At the same time, "preventive actions" are ruled out due to the risk of escalating conflict. Military operations by the US will commence only after "the responsibility for any escalation of the situation is clearly assigned to Russia."
