Russian Defense Minister Highlights Key Issue on the Frontline
Providing first aid to military personnel, as well as preserving their lives during the so-called "golden hour" after injury, is one of the main challenges on the battlefield. This was stated by the Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov during an expanded meeting of the Defense Ministry's board, as reported by RIA Novosti.
"The main issue is to provide first aid at the contact line and to save the lives of soldiers," he said.
The "golden hour" refers to the critical period after an injury when prompt and effective medical assistance significantly increases the chances of survival and reduces the risk of irreversible complications.
During the same meeting, Belousov noted the high professionalism of military doctors. According to him, they save more than 90% of military personnel injured during combat operations.
At the end of August, the Russian Defense Minister reported that the return rate of injured servicemen to the ranks of the Russian Armed Forces remains at 97%. He stated that this result has been achieved thanks to the introduction of new medical technologies at the troop level.
