My Only Concern Is That They Will Lead to a Split in the Church: Narek Karapetyan and Members of the ‘In Our Way’ Movement are at the Mother See

With this step, Pashinyan wants to show the world that he is not fighting against the church, but those living in Armenia know that he is imprisoning the clergy and fighting against the church's independence. This was stated by Narek Karapetyan, coordinator of the ‘In Our Way’ movement, during a conversation with journalists in the courtyard of the Mother See.

“My only concern is that they will lead to a split in the church, while the church has remained one of the last points of our national unity. We need to have a rock to lean on when we talk about national unity,” said Narek Karapetyan.

It is noteworthy that members of the ‘In Our Way’ movement arrived at the Mother See shortly before. It should be recalled that bishops who met with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan are organizing a gathering at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin at 5:00 PM with a demand to call for the Catholicos's rest.
