Pashinyan Discusses TRIPP Project with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received a delegation led by U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Allison Hooker. The Prime Minister welcomed Ms. Hooker's visit to Armenia and noted that the cooperation between the two countries has recently reached a new level. According to the country's leader, the partnership with the U.S. is being perceived newly by both the Government and the Armenian public.
At the same time, Nikol Pashinyan appreciated the personal contribution of the U.S. and President Donald Trump in establishing peace with Azerbaijan. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of implementing the agreements reached during the Peace Summit held in Washington on August 8, in accordance with the established timeline.
The country's leader also highlighted the fact that a rich agenda has been formed in bilateral relations with the U.S., which includes various sectors and directions. The U.S. Deputy Secretary expressed gratitude for the hospitality, noting that she visited Yerevan to advance the vision set during the August meetings between President Trump and Prime Minister Pashinyan.
Allison Hooker pointed out that her visit aims to deepen cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, infrastructure, regional connectivity, and security. Additionally, she emphasized the launch of bilateral working groups headed by Assistant Deputy Secretary Sonata Kalter, whose goal is to implement the bilateral agreements adopted at the historic summit and to develop Trump’s path for international peace and prosperity.
The Deputy Secretary highlighted that ongoing cooperation between the United States and Armenia, combined with progress towards a full peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the normalization of relations with Turkey, promises to open the South Caucasus as a vital trade route. In her view, this will create significant benefits for both the American and Armenian peoples, made possible by the leadership of President Trump and Prime Minister Pashinyan.
During the meeting, the participants also discussed issues related to the implementation of the agreements reached between Prime Minister Pashinyan and President Trump, the workings of the working groups, the implementation of the TRIPP project, and upcoming plans.
