Sandu: Russia Will Try to Control Power in Armenia

Moldova's President Maia Sandu has stated that Russia is reevaluating its foreign policy strategy and attempting to influence countries that are due for elections soon. According to her, as part of this process, Moscow may try to establish control over Armenia's internal political processes.

“Russia has not waited for such outcomes and is now trying to revise its plans. They will focus on states where elections are expected. For instance, elections in Armenia will take place next year, and they will try to take control of power,” said Sandu in an interview with the Romanian radio station Rock FM.

She added that Russia is using propaganda and disinformation tools in several European countries, including Romania, France, and Germany, which, according to her, are much harder for ordinary citizens to detect.

Sandu's statements have received significant attention in the international press, highlighting growing concerns regarding Russia's influence in Europe and the South Caucasus.
