First Phase Plans for Technological University in Academic City, Says Andreasyan

Everything is ready for the implementation of the Academic City project in Armenia. This was stated by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Zhanna Andreasyan, during a briefing following the "Academic City Armenia: International Forum on Knowledge."

"We have been working on the project for about two years and have made significant progress. In particular, the main master plan is being finalized. We also have results regarding the transportation project, and urban planning analyses have been conducted; everything is in place for us to start implementing our program. Together with our partners, the implementation strategy has also been clarified," stated the Minister.

She emphasized that she considers it realistic to achieve the goals set for the first phase by 2030. The first phase is expected to include a technological university in Academic City, as well as accommodation for around 3,600 students and staff, along with other necessary infrastructure.

When asked about the overall cost of the project, Andreasyan highlighted that they have preliminary estimates but refrained from disclosing specific figures. She emphasized that they are currently in the phase of developing a financial and investment plan and are working with a reputable consulting organization. According to Andreasyan, both the financial assessment and the investment plan will be available in the coming 1-2 months.
