Arman Tatoyan's Response to the Raid at Arush Arushanyan's Headquarters

Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan announced on his Facebook page: "A number of alerts have been received indicating that a large number of police officers have arrived at the 'Arush Arushanyan' alliance's headquarters in Goris, and some of the police have entered the headquarters while blocking its entrance for an extended period of time. According to the alerts, the police clarified that they are conducting a search at the headquarters based on a court decision related to a criminal case, but it is reported that the court's decision is illegal.

It has been indicated in the alert that the actions of police officers are obstructing the activities of the headquarters. A large number of police officers have arrived demonstratively; some have restricted access to the headquarters and the functioning of the office. This is being carried out specifically on the day of voting, with the aim of obstructing the election process of the 'Arush Arushanyan' alliance in the Goris community.

Representatives from the Human Rights Defender's office have discussed the issue with Arush Arushanyan's lawyer and the headquarters. Monitoring by media outlets has recorded that some of the police present near the headquarters have blocked its entrance.

The Human Rights Defender finds it necessary to note that it is the public obligation of the police to show what significant justifications exist for carrying out these actions with such a number of police officers precisely on election day, accompanied by the blocking of the entire entrance to the headquarters and restricting the work of the electoral headquarters.

The police must carry out their actions in such a way that no political force faces obstacles in participating in the electoral process, especially on election day, and that no disproportionate interference occurs. Additionally, there should be no violation of the political or other rights of any participant in the electoral process as a result of their actions, or at least such perceptions should not be created."
