Lavrov on Trump's Gaza Conflict Resolution Plan
The plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump for resolving the Gaza conflict is currently the best solution for ending the hostilities, stated Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in an interview for the "Bridges to the East" project.
“U.S. President Donald Trump suggested his '20 points', in which the term 'state' is mentioned. However, they are all quite broadly formulated. They pertain only to the remaining aspects of Gaza. The West Bank is not mentioned. But we are realists. We understand that this is the best thing on the table at this moment. At least, the best in terms of being acceptable to the Arabs and not being 'rejected' by Israel, as I would characterize Benjamin Netanyahu's position,” he stated.
Additionally, it should be noted that Trump's peace plan for Gaza, released on September 29, includes 20 points and calls for an immediate ceasefire contingent on the release of hostages within 72 hours. The document also proposes that Hamas and other Palestinian groups not participate in the governance of the Gaza Strip, either directly or indirectly; instead, the control would be transferred to a technocratic body under international oversight, personally led by Trump.
