How is the 'Education is Fashionable' Program Implemented?

The number of official vehicles has been reduced by more than half. Currently, it is difficult to specify expenses as a separate line item. We will have a clearer picture by 2025, as the reduction in vehicles occurred towards the end of the year. This was stated by Araik Harutyunyan, head of the Prime Minister's Office, during a joint session of the standing committees of the National Assembly, discussing the preliminary evaluations of the 2024 state budget performance, in response to frequent queries regarding the number of official vehicles.

"However, the reduction will be significant, primarily because the number of vehicles has decreased by two times, and secondly, some of the vehicles are electric or hybrid, meaning they are charged using electricity. Instead of 40 vehicles, we currently have 19," he mentioned.

According to Araik Harutyunyan, the procurement of the vehicles is entirely managed by the State Property Management Committee. He added, "Often, it is worth purchasing a slightly more expensive vehicle but giving up the old ones, because throughout the year, the old vehicles incur much higher costs. That is, we won't be spending on new vehicles in the coming years, and the operating costs will offset the purchase expenses."

In response to MP Gegham Nazaryan’s inquiry regarding whether the 'Education is Fashionable' program is funded by the state budget or through private means or foundations, Araik Harutyunyan stated, "Yes, this is a program of the Prime Minister, one of the Prime Minister's priority initiatives, which is implemented with the resources of the office."
