Change Needed in Armenian Constitution for Peace Treaty, Says Azerbaijani MFA

Following Azerbaijan's "restoration of state sovereignty" in 2023, efforts to regulate relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan have intensified. This was stated in a message from the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the occasion of State Sovereignty Day.

“The results of the Washington meeting once again confirmed the peace agenda proposed by Azerbaijan. In order to avail ourselves of this historical opportunity for peace and to sign a peace treaty, it is necessary to remove territorial claims from the Armenian Constitution,” the statement reads.
