Iran Poses Conditions Ahead of Inspections of Nuclear Facilities
Iran is prepared to restore the entry of international inspectors to its nuclear facilities and limit uranium enrichment in exchange for the lifting of Western sanctions, stated Abbas Araghchi, head of the Islamic Republic’s Foreign Ministry.
“Iran is ready to sign a realistic and long-term deal that includes strict oversight of facilities and limitations on uranium enrichment in exchange for the lifting of sanctions. Failing to seize this fleeting opportunity could have devastating consequences for the region and beyond on an entirely new scale,” he wrote in an article published in the British newspaper The Guardian.
Araghchi urged European countries not to blindly follow Washington's line, warning that otherwise the Old World’s role in international affairs would further diminish.
