I Like the Leader of That Country: Trump

U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that he likes Chinese leader Xi Jinping but believes negotiating with him is "exceedingly difficult," according to a post on Trump's Truth Social platform.

"I like the leader of China, I’ve always liked him, and I will always like him, but he is very uncompromising and it is exceptionally hard to make a deal with him," Trump wrote.

On June 1, Kevin Hassett, director of the White House Council of Economic Advisers, announced that a conversation between Trump and Xi is expected in the upcoming week. On May 30, the U.S. president stated that he anticipates a phone call with the Chinese leader to address the trade disputes that have arisen between Washington and Beijing.
