This person cannot live a prosperous life: Pashinyan

If a person eats red caviar in the morning, black caviar at noon, and both black and red caviar in the evening, but goes outside wearing rubber slippers, that person cannot live a prosperous life. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan while presenting the annual report on the execution of the 2024 state budget in the National Assembly.

According to him, a person's individual prosperity depends not so much on how much money they spent for their family but much more on how much money the state and community budgets spend for the prosperity of those same people, families, and individuals.

Pashinyan emphasized that this understanding is crucial. “We cannot have prosperity in Armenia without understanding this. In the end, let’s understand that there is not a single citizen in Armenia, regardless of social and other statuses, who spends more money for the prosperity of their family than the state and community budgets do for that same family,” he said.

“The state budget of Armenia is our collective as well as each of our family budgets; there is no exaggeration in this. Our attitude towards paying taxes must change because where there is tax, there is a state; where there is no tax, there is no state; where there is tax, there is prosperity; where there is no tax, there is no prosperity; where there is tax, there is happiness; where there is no tax, there is no happiness; where there is tax, there is freedom; where there is no tax, there is no freedom; where there is tax, there is security; where there is no tax, there is no security; where there is tax, there is health; where there is no tax, there is no health; where there is tax, there is education; where there is no tax, there is no education. This enumeration can be continued for hours,” he added.
