Police Chief Aram Hovhannisyan Dismissed from Office

Aram Hovhannisyan has been dismissed from his position as Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and from the police service altogether. The decision was signed by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. This was reported by the Government of Armenia.

“Guided by the second part of Article 13 and the first part of Article 45, point 1.1, as well as the second part of Article 45, and the seventh part of Article 9 of the Law on Public Service, Aram Hovhannisyan is dismissed from the position of Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and from service in the police,” the Prime Minister's decision states.

It is noteworthy that Aram Hovhannisyan was appointed to this position on January 9, 2023, having previously served as the First Deputy Chief of the Police of Armenia from 2020 to 2023.
