Why Was the Former Head of the State Food Safety Inspection Arrested? Details

It is known that a request for the arrest of Armen Danielian has been submitted, and several employees of the State Food Safety Inspection (SFTI) have also been detained along with him.

Earlier, in a conversation with Panorama.am, the Anti-Corruption Committee confirmed that the former head of the SFTI has been arrested on charges of embezzling property in particularly large amounts by abusing his official powers.

Sources from Panorama.am revealed several details regarding the criminal proceedings. According to them, Armen Danielian did not provide the gasoline due to employees traveling to the regions and instead sold it. Moreover, Armen Danielian initially distributed bonuses to his subordinates and then took them back, effectively pocketing the funds allocated from the state budget.

It should be noted that the Anti-Corruption Committee had previously confirmed to Auroranews that the former head of the SFTI, Armen Danielian, has been arrested.
