15,000 North Koreans Head to Russia

Russia, bypassing international sanctions, is accepting thousands of North Korean workers. This is reported by The Wall Street Journal, citing South Korea's intelligence service.

According to a report from South Korean intelligence, North Korea has already sent nearly 15,000 workers to Russia, primarily on student visas, which are being used to circumvent UN sanctions. The Wall Street Journal states that in 2024, Russia granted about 8,600 student visas to North Korean citizens, twelve times more than the previous year.
