Lavrov Expresses Strong Views on Zelensky
The Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has stated in an interview with CBS journalist Margaret Brennan that Russia does not intend to publicize the progress of negotiations with the United States regarding the resolution of the Ukraine conflict until their official conclusion.
“We are indeed very polite people. Unlike some, we never publicly discuss what is being talked about in negotiations; otherwise, the negotiations wouldn’t be serious,” said the diplomat.
The minister suggested discussing the issue with Vladimir Zelensky, as he believes Zelensky willingly engages with anyone through the media, even with U.S. President Donald Trump.
On Friday, Lavrov stated in an interview with the television channel that the White House leader is probably the only global leader who acknowledges the real causes of the Ukrainian crisis. According to him, Trump rightfully believes that an agreement is close regarding this matter, though there are some details that need refining.
