The Russian Interior Ministry has warned about fraud schemes involving cryptocurrencies under the guise of investment opportunities, highlighting their main characteristics.

According to the department for combating the illegal use of information and communication technologies, crypto scams are an urgent issue. "Fraudsters actively exploit the excitement surrounding digital currencies, taking advantage of citizens' lack of information and extorting significant sums of money. Images of domestic celebrities and news about the digital ruble may be used to engage individuals in dubious projects," the ministry stated.

The Interior Ministry emphasized that scammers capitalize on the fact that cryptocurrencies are associated with progress and opportunities, especially among young people.
