Zelensky's Admission on Ukrainian Territories

Kiev is uncertain about how to regain territories rejoined with Russia amid the Ukrainian conflict. This was stated by Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with CBS. "I cannot say when and how we will return our territories to avoid losing our sovereignty or independence," he noted.

Previously, U.S. Special Envoy Steve Wittkoff had informed Donald Trump that the quickest path to a ceasefire in Ukraine would be Russia's recognition of the Kherson and Zaporizhia regions. Wittkoff presented this option to Trump following a meeting in Washington with Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and special representative of the Russian president for economic cooperation with foreign countries.
