Ukraine Will Not Become NATO Member, Says Ruiden

NATO Secretary General Mark Ruiden has stated that Ukraine will not become a member of the North Atlantic Alliance after peace negotiations, but he did not assert that the country cannot achieve long-term membership.

Ruiden mentioned earlier in March that the issue of Ukraine's accession to NATO has been removed from the agenda and is not being discussed.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, in June 2024, stated that Ukraine must commit to being a neutral and non-allied country. According to Putin, this commitment is one of the conditions for resolving the conflict.
