It Will Be Very Difficult, Zelensky
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on Friday during an interview with NBC News that it will be "very, very, very difficult" for Ukraine to survive without U.S. military support, both now as he seeks to push back against the Russian invasion and in the future after the current war concludes.
“It’s probably going to be very, very, very difficult. And, of course, in all difficult situations, you have a chance,” Zelensky said in the interview at the Munich Security Conference. “But we will have little chance of surviving without the support of the United States. I think this is very important, critically important.”
“I don’t want to think about fighting against Russia without American support,” Zelensky said. “I don’t want to think about not being strategic partners,” he added.
According to the Ukrainian president, Russian President Vladimir Putin wants to come to the negotiating table "not to end the war but to secure a ceasefire agreement that would lift certain international sanctions against Russia and allow Russian troops to regroup."
