Peskov Responds to Zelensky's Exchange Proposal
Mariam Z.
The Kremlin has stated that Russia will not exchange territories with Ukraine, responding to remarks made by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky. Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesperson, addressed the issue during a press briefing, reported TASS.
“It is impossible. Russia has never discussed and will never discuss the topic of exchanging its territory, of course, the Ukrainian units will be expelled from this territory (Kursk region),” Peskov said.
It is noteworthy that Ukraine might propose exchanging territories if the situation progresses to negotiations aimed at halting the war. This was stated by President Zelensky in an interview with the British publication The Guardian.
