Abkhazia Leadership Resignation Prevented Bloodshed, Says Bzhania
The decision of the Abkhazian leadership to resign was made under difficult circumstances, but it was necessary to ease tensions and avoid irreparable mistakes. This was stated by former republic leader Aslan Bzhania in an interview with the Rossiya-24 television channel.
He reminded that the resignation decision was taken in very heavy conditions, but it was essential for the intensity of what was happening to decrease.
"What happened is very bad, but we did not make irreparable mistakes, there was no bloodshed, and that is very important," the former president is convinced.
Earlier, in an interview with TASS, Bzhania stated that he would nominate his candidacy in the upcoming extraordinary elections for the republic's leadership, emphasizing that he intends to actively participate in the country's political life.
