Police Announce Important Update on Fines
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has announced a new legislative initiative that includes a 30% reduction for fines paid within 15 days, effective from April 5. This information was shared by the police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Reminder: The 30% bonus reduction does not apply when the fine decision is contested.
As previously stated, under the new law, there is a 30% reduction for fines paid within a 15-day period. However, there are cases where citizens contest the decision of the imposed fine through an appeal process. If the appeal does not succeed, the fine can still be paid at the reduced rate of 30%.
In other cases, citizens might pay the reduced fine and then contest the decision; in this instance, the obligation to pay is considered unmet if the appeal is denied.
It’s important to note that if the fine is paid within the designated 15 days following the notification of the fine decision, the original fine amount is reduced by 30%, except in cases where the decision to impose an administrative penalty is contested.
The police department emphasizes that the 30% bonus reduction does not apply when contesting the fine decision.
