“I Am Proud of Alexey's Allies”: Navalny's Mother Comments on Investigation into Businessman Nevzlin
The mother of political figure Alexey Navalny, Lyudmila Navalnaya, has commented on the investigation by the Anti-Corruption Foundation, which states that former top manager of YUKOS and businessman Leonid Nevzlin ordered an assassination attempt against political figure Leonid Volkov. The investigation also alleges that Nevzlin was involved in organizing attacks against Ivan Zhdanov, the organization's director in Geneva, and Alexandra Petrachekova, the wife of economist Maxim Mironov in Argentina.
Navalnaya wrote on Facebook expressing pride in the allies of her deceased son. She also wished that those who regard such attacks and the investigation as merely sensational stories would never find themselves in situations like Volkov, Zhdanov, and Petrachekova.
It should be noted that Lyudmila Navalnaya's comments are likely a response to journalist Evgenia Albats, who characterized the recent findings of the Anti-Corruption Foundation's investigation as a sensational story filled with mutual insults.
