Artificial Intelligence's Reaction to Yesterday's Floods in Yerevan

OpenAI, the technological company behind ChatGPT, has introduced the first model of its Strawberry series, the o1 model, which takes more time to contemplate questions before responding. The company notes that the models in this series are capable of solving more complex problems in the fields of science, programming, and mathematics than previous versions.

‘Hetq’ asked the artificial intelligence to describe the situation in the capital city of Yerevan after the heavy rains on September 13 and to suggest solutions. After pondering for 9 seconds, it proposed the following:

1. Modernize the city’s drainage system to ensure rainwater is quickly and effectively removed from the streets.
2. Increase green spaces and use permeable covers that absorb rainwater and reduce surface runoff.
3. Construct rainwater collection basins, pumping stations, and other structures that help control water levels.
4. Utilize modern technologies, such as water level monitoring sensors and early warning systems.
