Iran Launches Chamran-1 Research Satellite into Orbit
Today, Iran has launched its "Chamran-1" research satellite into orbit aboard the Qaem-100 rocket, marking another significant achievement in the country's space program, reported the Iranian Tasnim agency.
The satellite, weighing about 60 kilograms, primarily aims to test hardware and software systems for orbital maneuvering technologies. It was designed and built by the Iran Electronics Industries (SAIran) space group in collaboration with the Institute of Aerospace Research and private technology companies.
In addition to its main mission, the satellite is also conducting secondary tasks, including evaluating the performance of cold gas propulsion subsystems in space systems, as well as assessing navigation and position control subsystems.
