Announcement: Recruitment at the Community Police Department
In the framework of police reforms, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announces recruitment for the Community Police Department from four essential areas. Armenian citizens under the age of 35, with higher education and who have completed their mandatory military service (with exceptions for female citizens and cases of exemption from military service as stipulated by the "Law on Military Service and Military Status") can apply for service in the Community Police. This includes individuals who have been forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh and have obtained Armenian citizenship.
For more information, please contact the Ministry of Internal Affairs at 130 Nalbandyan St., Yerevan or call 010 59 61 22 or 010 59 65 38.
As part of ongoing reforms at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the service will soon transform into a new Community Police Department. The new Community Police will focus on preventing crimes across various areas, including combating domestic violence, keeping minors away from criminal activity, and effective collaboration with communities.
The unit will be responsible for executing operational-investigative measures in cases of minor and medium-level crimes. Systems for evaluation and continuous monitoring of community police officers' work, as well as digital information transfer with other interested parties, will be implemented. Integration and interconnectivity of various electronic data repositories and systems will be ensured.
The service will be equipped with special equipment and modern technical means. Officers serving in the Community Police will benefit from a range of social guarantees, particularly free health assessments and treatment for themselves and their close relatives funded by the state. The state also provides each year a free social package for the health insurance of police officers.
The state regularly initiates programs for police officers to acquire housing under preferential mortgage conditions. Currently, a certification system for police officers has been implemented, allowing officers to potentially double their salary. The expansion of various other social guarantees is also under discussion within the framework of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reforms.
The formation of the new Community Police will ensure communication with the community through modern technical means and will strengthen the relationship between citizens and community police officers.
