Major Accident on Sisian-Yerevan Highway: Injured Individuals Hospitalized

On August 10, at 07:14, information was received by the Crisis Management Center of the Syunik Regional Rescue Service that a traffic accident had occurred near the police checkpoint leading to the M-2 interstate highway, with casualties reported and requiring rescue assistance.

A firefighting and rescue team from the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ regional rescue department was dispatched to the scene. It was determined that a vehicle, an 'Opel' (driver: M.V., born in 1985), had left the roadway at the 8th kilometer of the Sisian-Yerevan highway, overturned, and ended up on an iron guardrail.

Prior to the arrival of the rescuers, local forces had transported passengers Z.V. (born in 1962), V.U. (born in 2006), and A.H. (born in 1971) to a medical center. Rescuers disconnected the vehicle's battery, shut off the gas cylinder valve, and extricated the driver. The driver and another passenger, A.P. (born in 1980), were brought to the ambulance on a stretcher. The injured were hospitalized in a medical center, where doctors assessed the health condition of V.U. and A.H. as satisfactory, while the condition of the others was reported as stable but serious.
