On July 24, around 03:30 AM, an armed incident occurred at the Iran-Azerbaijan border, resulting in minor injuries to two Azerbaijani border guards. This information has been reported by Azerbaijani media outlets.

According to the State Border Service, two unidentified individuals crossed the state border from the Islamic Republic of Iran towards the Republic of Azerbaijan in the service area of the "Geytepe" border unit.

The border violators resisted the border guards with armed force and fled, taking advantage of the darkness and the challenging terrain.

As a result of the armed incident, two border guards received light injuries, and they were provided with the necessary medical assistance.

During the inspection of the area, 10.882 kilograms of narcotics, a night vision device, a 12 mm caliber rifle, as well as cartridges and bullets belonging to the border violators were discovered.
