Israeli-Hamas Negotiations Likely to Freeze Following Haniya's Assassination
Edita
Negotiations between the Israeli government and the radical Palestinian Hamas movement regarding hostages are likely to freeze for weeks or even months. Israeli television has reported this development.
It has been indicated that Israeli cabinet members have been informed of a prediction that the assassination of the military leader of the Shiite Hezbollah movement, Fuad Shokri, in Beirut, and the head of Hamas’ political bureau, Ismail Haniya, in Tehran, will lead to the cessation of negotiations.
At the same time, it is not ruled out that Iran might launch missiles at Israel from its territory.
