Details from the Ministry of Emergency Situations on the Fire at the Yerevan HPP-1 Site
On July 6th, at 19:43, the National Crisis Management Center received a report about smoke emanating from the Yerevan HPP-1 area in the Hrazdan Gorge. This information was provided by the Ministry of Emergency Situations' Disaster Response department.
Seven fire-fighting units from the Yerevan City Rescue Department, along with the on-duty Medical Support Department, and groups from the Firefighting and Rescue Operations Division of the Rescue Services were dispatched to the scene.
It was determined that the fire had broken out in the area of the Yerevan HPP-1 located in the Hrazdan Gorge. The fire has been extinguished, and follow-up activities were carried out. The wooden structures of the roof of a building within the Yerevan HPP-1 area, covering approximately 10 square meters, and cables in a tunnel in the basement, were burned.
Firefighters have implemented continuous monitoring at the site. The Deputy Director of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Colonel Egor Karapetyan, was present at the scene.
