The 'Beryl' Storm Reaches Its Peak Intensity
The 'Beryl' storm reached its maximum intensity late Monday evening, attaining the highest level 5 category, devastating homes by destroying doors, windows, and roofs in the southeastern Caribbean region. This was reported by the National Hurricane Center (NHC) in Miami, according to CBS News.
According to Grenada's Prime Minister, Dickon Mitchell, one fatality has been reported due to the storm. It remains unclear if there are additional casualties, as authorities have been unable to assess the situation on Carriacou and Petite Martinique islands, which reportedly suffered significant damage.
The 'Beryl' storm intensified further early Tuesday morning, with winds reaching speeds of up to 165 mph.
