Strong Earthquake Occurs in the Bay of Bengal

A strong earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale was recorded in the Bay of Bengal, 480 kilometers southwest of Port Blair, India. This information was reported by Interfax, citing the Altai-Sayan branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences' unified geophysical service.

The earthquake took place at 05:24 Yerevan time. Based on the intensity of the tremors at the epicenter, it is assessed as 'very strong'. The U.S. Geological Survey also reported the earthquake's magnitude at 5.7. According to the service, the focus of the underground tremors was located at a depth of 10 kilometers.

So far, there have been no reports of destruction or injuries resulting from the earthquake.
