Who Could Have Created Hamster Kombat

Hamster Kombat has captured over 150 million players just weeks after its release, sparking numerous memes where people worldwide torture hamsters using various vibrating objects. The identity of the game's creators has been a mystery until now, with only indirect evidence suggesting that the developers might be from Russia.

As reported by The Bell, this assumption appears to be accurate. Two sources familiar with the game’s developers claim that the project's mastermind is the serial Russian IT entrepreneur Eduard Gurinovich, founder of CarPrice and CarMoney, and a participant in Forbes' "30 Under 30" list. Additionally, it is suggested that the messaging platform Telegram is among the stakeholders of Hamster Kombat, as stated by one of the sources in an interview with The Bell.

An additional contact close to the company asserts that Telegram's interest is indirect, primarily serving as a promotion for the game through the messenger platform. The first hints regarding Gurinovich’s potential connections to the project were revealed on Sunday by a popular Russian Telegram channel, which highlighted a curious fact: two months prior to the launch of Hamster Kombat on March 14, a domain was registered that is linked to the game, hamsterkombat.com. This domain is owned by Cyprus-based Arenum Ltd, whose shareholders include Russian entrepreneurs Alexander Zelenshchikov, Eduard Gurinovich, and Alexander Pasechnik (the latter's personal number was also used for registering this domain).
