Emergency Incident in Yerevan: Four Workers from "HETC" Assaulted at Substation Responding to Fire Alarm

According to SHAMSHYAN.com, an emergency incident occurred in Yerevan yesterday, July 4. Around 00:20, operational information was received at the Kanaker-Zeytun division of the Police of the Republic of Armenia about hooliganism taking place at 13 Hirachya Kocharyan Street, where several individuals were reportedly assaulted.

Before the police could arrive at the scene, around 01:20, a call was received from the Armenia Medical Center indicating that three citizens had been admitted with a diagnosis of "polytrauma."

As reported by photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, police officers from the Kanaker-Zeytun division, led by the deputy head of the division, Aramyan, established that the injured individuals were 62-year-old Seryozha E., 33-year-old Sevak V., and 35-year-old Vahan Z., all residents of Yerevan.

Further investigations revealed that on July 3, at 23:00, Seryozha E., Sevak V., Vahan Z., and 64-year-old Gnel A. had responded to a call from the director of the "Aragats" branch of HETC, 31-year-old Narek P., and proceeded to one of the substations on Rubinyants Street under the pretense of a fire alarm. Upon arrival, they discovered no fire, but were instead ambushed by approximately ten individuals at the vicinity of 27/109 Rubinyants Street, who attacked and injured Seryozha E., Sevak V., Vahan Z., and Gnel A.

Operational measures taken by the criminal investigation department identified some of the assailants as Artem, son of Kanaker resident Sayat, 44-year-old Vladimir M., and 45-year-old Haik D., who was in possession of an object resembling a firearm at the time.

The police are taking necessary actions to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident and to identify the participants involved. Documentation regarding the incident has been prepared at the Kanaker-Zeytun division and has been forwarded to the investigative division of the Investigation Committee of Armenia in Yerevan.
