Armenian Ministry of Economy to Open EAEU Common Market for Local Jewelers
The Armenian Ministry of Economy will finally open the EAEU common market for local jewelers. The agreement on a unified market for these products was adopted in 2021, but only now have Armenian authorities practically activated it for local businesses. During this entire period, businesses were unable to benefit from it as the government had not adopted the necessary working documents, reports Sputnik Armenia.
According to the agreement, the five EAEU countries mutually recognize the hallmarking of precious metals. As a result, jewelry stamped in one EAEU country can circulate freely in the other four countries without the need for double hallmarking.
The public discussion of the project is scheduled on the e-draft.am portal from June 26 to July 11.
